Announcing the Middlesex Borough 2021 Seal and Slogan Contests!

Borough residents are invited to submit their ideas for a new slogan and re-designed seal in contests that close JANUARY 31, 2021.

December 1, 2020 – If you could sum up Middlesex Borough in just a few words, what would they be? That’s the question Mayor John Madden is asking Borough residents. In a day and age where branding has become just as important to municipalities as it is to businesses, Mayor Madden has launched contests seeking the best ideas for a new Borough Slogan and Seal.

The winning slogan and re-designed seal may be used by the Borough of Middlesex on its website, on social media channels, and in other marketing efforts for the Borough.

The slogan and seal represent important parts of the community’s visual identity and play a role in attracting high-quality economic investment in Middlesex Borough.

“The people of Middlesex Borough take great pride in our community,” said Mayor Madden. “I am confident that our creative and talented residents will submit ideas for a new seal and slogan that effectively communicate everything that is great about the Borough.”

The current Borough seal captures neighborhoods, business and industry, and history. It is anticipated that the contest winner will continue in that tradition, while offering a fresh take on today’s Middlesex Borough. It is suggested that entries be simple, use local symbolism, use only 3-4 basic colors, and avoid lettering or numbers.

Despite being an independent borough for over 100 years, Middlesex has never crafted an official slogan. Contest organizers are seeking a slogan that is simple, distinctive, and uses meaningful local symbolism.

The Seal and Slogan Contests are open only to residents of Middlesex Borough. Entrants can submit either a seal, a slogan or both, though only one entry per category per person will be accepted. Entries must be received by 01/31/2021. There is no fee to enter the contest. A completed entry form must be included.

A completed entry form must be included. The work submitted must be original work product (no use of copyrighted art or images).
