Leaf Pickup
Grass and Leaf pick up will occur March through December. On Wednesday, place bags at curb the night before for pick up.
LEAVES WILL ONLY BE PICKED UP IN BIODEGRADABLE LEAF BAGS.
GRASS/LEAF COLLECTION
Grass and Leaf pick up will begin the last Wednesday of March and end on the last Wednesday of December. Place bags at curb the night before for pick up. Grass/leaves will only be picked up in paper biodegradable bags. Plastic bags will NOT be picked up. Grass/leaves can also be taken to the Recycling Center. Leaves cannot be raked or blown to the curb or roadway. Refer to Ordinance #1727-06, Chapter 355 or call 732-968-1603 for more information. Branches are accepted at the Recycling Center all year. Branches are picked up at the curb on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from March thru November. They must be in 4 foot sections and tied or bundled. **Stumps will not be accepted.
LEAF BAGS AVAILABLE: RESIDENTS WILL BE ENTITLED TO Ten (10) BAGS WHICH WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP AT THE RECYCLE CENTER IN NOVEMBER.

Street sweeping will commence weather permitting on March 27, 2024.

GARBAGE COLLECTION
Middlesex Borough Garbage Pickup SCHEDULE
ONCE-A-WEEK garbage pickup is in effect September through May.
TWICE-A-WEEK garbage pickup begins the first Monday of June, and continues until the last week of August. Remaining months, September through May, will be on a once-a-week schedule.
MONDAY/TUESDAY HOLIDAYS: When the once-a-week garbage pickup is in effect, if your garbage pick up falls on a holiday-Monday or a holiday-Tuesday, your pick up will be on Wednesday.
Please help keep Middlesex clean - do not store garbage at the curb. Garbage should be placed at the curb the night before pickup, and remove empty cans from the curb by 8:00 P.M. on pickup day. Use regulation, clean covered containers not over 50 pounds.
NOTE
Cans must be 32 gallons or less with removable lids. Weight is not to exceed 50 lbs. Cardboard will not be picked up with regular garbage. Residents can take cardboard to the Recycling Center or put out for their scheduled recycling pickup.

BULK PICKUPS
A) All owners of residential households are permitted one curbside bulk item collection in a calendar year at no charge. No more than five cubic yards are permitted to be placed outside for bulk pickup. All bulk items will be collected on Wednesdays by appointment only. Appointments must be scheduled at least seven days prior to that Wednesday's pickup. Items cannot be placed at the curb for pick up more than 72 hours prior to that Wednesday's requested pickup. There will be no bulk pickup November 1 through January 31.
B) Construction debris, wood, branches, leaves, paint, metal, computers, televisions, and stereos will not be picked up.
C) Household appliances, i.e., stoves, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, hot-water tanks and dishwashers, can be picked up throughout the year by appointment only. All doors must be removed from the appliance.
D) An additional or special pickup may be available for owner-occupied one- and two-family residential dwellings only at a fee of $150 per pickup.
E) Each owner-occupied one- and two-family residential dwelling will be mailed two bulk coupons annually. An additional bulk coupon can be purchased from the Finance Office for $50.
Bulk pickup is limited to one per year, and is arranged by appointment only. Rules are strictly enforced, so please read carefully.
Please call (732) 968-1603 between 6am and 7pm, leave your name and number, your call will be returned to arrange for pickup.
Large appliances ("white metal") can be picked up by appointment throughout the year.
There will be no pickups scheduled in November, December or January. Bulk pickups will resume the first Wednesday in February.
Residents moving in or out of town should not leave bulk at curb.
Bulk Pickups: RULES
All debris at curb no sooner than the night before, no later than 5:00 A.M. on day of pickup.
Please try to limit to 5 cubic yards of debris, the size of 2½ office desks. (Approx.15ft long, 3 ft wide, 3 ft high)
Package debris no more than 50 pounds in a bundle.
Debris from businesses will not be picked up.
