The Tower Gets a Makeover with Blue Jay Style

Visitors to Mountain View Park may remember seeing the odd-shaped, decrepit structure known as the Tower. The years have not been kind to this storage structure, and it had become a bit of an eyesore. If the Tower were hidden from view, it may have been left to flounder in disrepair, but given its prominent visibility, a few community leaders decided to step in.

It’s a Success

This revitalization would not have been possible without the hard work of local resident, Michael Conahan, who, along with DPW Superintendent Lenny Vidal, raised and donated funds for the project as well as secured local artist, Drake Berry. Superintendent Vidal also helped to coordinate the transformation of the Tower from grim to gorgeous.

Thanks to Mr. Berry, Mr. Conahan, Mr. Vidal and the great staff at the DPW, the tower now stands as a beacon of town spirit as it is decorated in blue and white with local mascot, the Blue Jay, as a central theme.

Last month when graduating students took to the adjacent football field to celebrate their graduation, they enjoyed a spruced-up tribute to their school perched in the background!
